The Pearling Masters Trek

Once the pearling capital of the world, is a unique blend of cultures, with influences from China, Japan, Malaysia, and beyond. On our tour, you'll explore heritage-listed buildings and architecture of Broome's Chinatown precinct, including public art, and points of global historical significance that showcase the unique history of this internationally acclaimed precinct.
After exploring Chinatown (Broome’s historic business district) we’ll walk toward Town Beach (Broome’s historic cultural precinct). Along the way we’ll stop at two art galleries, the Black Stump Gallery and Broome’s newest creative arts space, the Redbill Gallery located in the heritage-listed Captain Gregory’s house. At these galleries, you will try pearl meat with a complimentary glass of bubbles.  From Captain Gregory’s we’ll walk to Town Beach, the historic site of the original Port, which was Broome’s most important piece of infrastructure in the early 1900s. We’ll finish with a visit to 9 Zeros, 9 Stories an artwork commemorating the 1942 Japanese air raid on Broome.
